Janab mufti saahab, I wish to know when one reads Tahajjud should he read the way prescribed in Hadeeth & masnun dua book? The Prophet(pbuh) read a dua after getting up & then Surah Imran etc. Or can we get up & read 8 rakaats of 2 each, with niyat of tahajjud only & read whatever surahs we know in the salaah, is this way of reading tahajjud correct? Should we read our personal duas after every 2 rakaats or after every 4 rakaats or at the end of the 8 rakaats? The duas after salaah we read in our own words is it counted & heard? |

In the name of Allah the most gracious the most merciful Assalamo Alaikum Dear in Islam The answer of your question is as follows: It is better to follow the particular way of Tahajjud Salat mentioned in authentic books of Du¡¯aa as much as possible. But if a person offers Tahajjud Salat as other Salat is offered then it is also correct. He can recite whatever Sura he knows. The Glorious Qur¡¯aan says, ¡°Read you, therefore, of the Qur¡¯aan as much as may be easy for you¡±. (Suratul Muzzmmil: 73 V: 20)
The Prophet of Islam (SA) did not leave any aspect of life to tell man how to deal with. The teaching of Prophet (SA) in every part of human life and Du¡¯aa (prayer) of every occasion are mentioned in the books of Ahadith. One should try to memorize these Musnoon Du¡¯aa and read them as per moment. One can pray his personal Du¡¯aa in whatever language he wants whether after every two Raka-yat or at the end of Salat. For, Allah is all seeing and all knowing. The Glorious Qur¡¯aan says, ¡°When My servants ask thee concerning Me, I am indeed close (to them): I respond to the prayer of every suppliant when he calls on Me: let them also, with a will, listen to My call, and believe in Me: that they may walk in the right way¡±. (Al-Baqara: 2 V: 186) Allah know |
