Assalaamualaikum

 

I am the owner of the shop. I have given this shop to a Bank for 15 years. So I want to ask that it is allowed to give shop on rent to a Bank or Insurance Company. Because someone told me that it is your property and you cannot give your property on rent to a Company which is involved in Haraam work. So pleasereply me on this soon.

In Islam, interest or usury is totally prohibited. Allah subhanahu tala says in the Glorious Quran ˇ°Verily, Allah permitted business and prohibited usuryˇ± (Surah Baqra) In Islam as committing wrongdoings are prohibited in the same way to help someone in wrong doing is also prohibited as Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran: ˇ°ˇ°ˇ­and do not help each other in sin and aggression. Fear Allah. Surely, Allah is severe at punishment.ˇ± [Al-Maidah- Ayah.2]ˇ±
So, giving shop to bank is helping it in usury. Hence, it is unlawful to give the shop on rent to bank.
