Dear Brother in Islam,

The answer to your question is as follows:

To help poor and needy people is the moral and religious responsibility of rich people. The Glorious QurˇŻan says, ˇ°ˇAnd do good to others as Allah has done good to you, and do not try to spread corruption in the land. Surely, Allah does not like corrupters.ˇ± (Suratul-Qasas 28: 77)

There are many poor and needy people in Muslim community, and they should be favoured. Therefore, the share referred to the above-mentioned question should be given to poor Muslims, thought it is permissible to give a non-Muslim poor, is not better. (Alamghiri Vol: 5: page: 300)

And Allah knows the best,
