Question By : Jinnnath Anam

I am a post graduate student of Gauhati University, Assam. I have seen many Muslim students fall in love. So I wanted to know whether a boy and a girl can fall in love before their marriage without having any physical relationship before marriage. Is it possible according to Islamic law?

The answer to your question is as follows:
It is Narrated by Ibn 'Abbas: ¡¡The adultery of the eye is the looking (at something which is sinful to look at), and the adultery of the tongue is to utter (what it is unlawful to utter), and the innerself wishes and longs for (adultery) and the private parts turn that into reality or refrain from submitting to the temptation." (Bukhari ;Divine Will (Al-Qadar)
Any form of pre-marital contact and casual relationships between non-mahram males and females even it with the intention of marriage is not permissible in Islam. It is not even permissible to talk with a person of the opposite gender if the person is not a mahram, for example, father, mother, brother, sister etc, because generally this kind of relation opens the door for evil and immoral relationship. Shariah prohibited zina and everything that leads to zina. You should encourage your friend to stop all such haram relations.(And Allah knows the best)
