Question By : A sister

1.What exactly is the meaning of Zina?
2.I have been engaged since 6 months. The boy belongs to a family who considers communication as a good thing between the girl and the boy, though my family is all against it. So considering it to be a necessasity, I did a very stupid thing which now i realize i should not have done.

As i dont wear naqab(but i follow a decent dresscode)and am working in a company where interact only with girls....i thought communicating through e-mail wont harm.My fiance was so much into talking to me...he found out my office number and we talked...i gave him my email id and we started to mail regularly. Then after 4 months of engagement, we decided to meet, though i took my mother's permission, she was all against our meeting which i did.

Now we do meet occasionally, and talk on phone regularly.I know i am commiting a sin but just cant say no to my fiance who always insist upon me to....considering that he be my future husband.
I havent committed any major sin but am confused on how to say no to him now.Our marraige is to take place only this April.

So brother in Islam, kindly tell me a way out of this situation wherein i dont hurt anybody.I thought and considered the option of Nikah only without rukhsati.Kindly give me the obligations necessary in this regard.

Your answer is of utmost important to me.May Allah bless you all in all your endeavors.

Assalamu Alaikum
Dear Sister in Islam,
The answers to yours question are as follows:

1. Every part of the body has its share in adultery as it is stated in a Hadith. The Prophet of Islam (SAWS) is reported as having said, ¡°Every one has their share of adultery which they will meet without doubt: adultery of the eyes when they look at that which is Haraam; adultery of the ears when they listen to that which is Haraam; adultery of the tongue when it speaks that which is Haraam; adultery of the hand when it is touched; adultery of the feet when they take steps in the direction of that which is Haraam; adultery of the heart when it desires and hopes for that which is Haraam; adultery of the private parts when they acknowledge that which is Haraam.¡± (Targib Wa Tarheeb)

2. Love and hatred for the sake of Allah is one of the best things in the sight of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta¡¯ala. The Prophet of Islam (SWAS) is reported as having said, ¡°The action dearest to Allah Almighty is love for Allah¡¯s cause and hate for Allah¡¯s sake¡±. (Ahmad, Abu Dawad)

Love and hatred for the cause of Allah amounts love for the Prophet and the injunctions of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta¡¯ala which are embodied in the Glorious Qur¡¯an and the Lofty Hadith. Allah says in the Glorious Qur¡¯an, ¡°Say (O Muhammad, to mankind): if you love Allah, follow me; Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful¡±. (Suratu Al-Imran: 3/31)

Therefore, a Muslim should prevent himself from every deed that causes Allah¡¯s wrath and should not fear the blame of any blamer in following the injunctions of Allah Almighty.

Islam prohibits to talk to an Ajnabi (to whom marriage is permitted) without any extreme necessity. Since every part of the body has its share in adultery as it has been stated in the above-quoted Hadith. So, it is not permitted for you to communicate with your boyfriend either directly or through phone and Internet.

It should be carried in mind that the marriage bond is one of the most important parts of human life. The life will become difficult if the partner is not compatible, in accordance with Islamic teachings. Therefore, the parents search the most suitable partner for their children. And the children should welcome the decision of their parents as long as it does not contradict with the teachings of Islam.

And Allah knows the b
