The answer to your question is as follows:
It is command of Allah Almighty; that people must cooperate in righteousness, and do not corporate in any evil. Allah Almighty says:
"Help you one another in righteousness and piety; and do not help one another in sin and transgression. And fear Allah. Verily, Allah is Severe in punishment." (Al Quran, Surah no 5:2)
This is the teaching of the Qur'an and Sunnah which aimed at spreading the virtues of righteousness, justice, sympathy and good manner throughout the world by presenting every single individual of the community as a living herald and model of the truth. And conversely, in order to eradicate crimes, injustices and oppressions, the same teaching had converted every member of the community into a kind of soldier who was bound to do his duty under all circumstances, whether watched or unwatched - because of the fear of Allah in his heart
Encouraging others to do good things is one of the ways that Muslims can cooperate with each other in righteousness. The prophet (S.A.W.) promises those who encourage goodness to receive the same reward of those who do the good deed. So the prophet (S.A.W.) said: ¡°Whoever guides someone to virtue will be rewarded equivalent to him who practices that good action.¡± [Reported by Imam Muslim] In another Hadith , the prophet (S.A.W.) said, ¡°If anyone calls others to follow right guidance, his reward will be equivalent to those who follow him (in righteousness) without their reward being diminished in any respect on that account.¡± [Reported by Imam Muslim]
As well as when people encourage others to do sinful things, then they will receive the same penalty of those who have sinned. The prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) said, ¡°And if anyone invites others to follow error, the sin, of which he is guilty, will be equivalent to those of the people who follow him (in sinfulness) without their sins being diminished in any respect on that account.¡± [Reported by Imam Muslim]
After all coming to answer to your question, it is well-known that the television is an instrument of entertainment and sport. There are presented nude and arousing pictures and indecent matters. Mostly the programs screened over there go absolutely against the Islamic Shariah. Today, television is the sole factor behind the evils prevailing in the society. Also there are in countless traditions and verses, music has been declared haram and prohibited. Therefore, due to all these evils, watching television or providing operating service for it, is unlawful according to above mentioned verse of Quran and Sunnah. .(And Allah Knows the Bes
