Dear Brother in Islam,
The answer to your question is as follows:

Generally, the system of bank is based on the interest. And interest is Haraam (unlawful) in the Shariah. The Prophet of Islam (SAW) cursed everyone who is involved in the interest either by giving, taking, writing, bearing witness or by any other methods. It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Jaabir (RA) that the Prophet of Islam (SAW) cursed one who devours usury, feeds, scribes it and one who bears witness to it. He added saying: All of them are of the same rank (shared in the sin equally).ˇ± (Muslim V: 2 P: 27)

A bank employ either he/she devours the interest or not, works, somehow or the other, for the interest such as counting the money of interest, writing it down and other similar work. Besides, the salary of a bank employee is given from the money of interest. Therefore, Ulama say that working in such a bank, which is based on the interest, is forbidden.

All the worships and righteous deeds of one who earns livelihood through Haraam (unlawful) sources will suffer rebuff from Allah Almighty. It is reported on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Prophet of Islam (SAW) said, ˇ°Allah is pure and accepts only that which is pure. Allah has enjoined the believers to do what He commanded the messengers. And Allah says, ˇ°O, messengers! Eat of the good things and do right.ˇ± Allah Almighty also says, ˇ°O, believers! Eat of the good things which We have provided for you.ˇ± Then the Prophet (SAW) mentioned (the case of) a man who has journeyed far, is disheveled and dusty and who spreads out his hands to the sky (saying), ˇ°O Lord! O Lord!ˇ± while his food is unlawful, his drink is unlawful, his clothing is unlawful and he is nourished unlawfully, so how can he be answered!ˇ± (Muslim) There are several sources to earn Halaal and lawful livelihood like business, teaching, working in a company, and other similar services. A Muslim must not adopt the unlawful sources for earning as long as the lawful means are available.

And Allah knows the best,
