In the name of Allah, All Gracious, All Merciful

ASSALAMUALAIKUM WA RAHMATULLAHI WA BARAKATUHU,

I thank you for all the previous teachings .

There are some more queries,

(1) What is the method to clean(paak) the mattress or woolen carpet if it gets napaak. Is it possible to wipe it with the help of petrol , which evaporates and the surface looks clean .

(2) Can a girl/women open her face front of stranger ." I've heard that it is farz for girl/women to cover her face." If so how should females work in offices.

(3)If we work in a office where some of our nonmuslim staff members consume alchohol,is it permissable for us to work in that office if so what should be our limits.

Jazakallah

WASSALAM ALAIKUM

Wa Alaikumussalam
Dear Brother in Islam,
The answer to your question is as follows:

(1) There are two types of Najasah¡ªHukmi (invisible) and Haqiqi (visible).
Hukmi is the Najasah that is impossible to be felt or seen but the Shariah considers it Najasah such as the things that nullify Wudu (ablution) make the whole body of man impure. Haqiqi is the Najasah that can be felt or seen such as urinal and this kind of Najasah.
The former can¡¯t be cleansed with the help of any liquid except water or soil (Taymmum) when the later can be cleaned with every Pak liquid that has the ability to cleanse Najasah. (Hidayah: 1/54)

Therefore, it is possible to cleanse Napak mattress or woolen carpet with the help of petrol and other Pak liquid.

(2) Though the face is not amongst the Satr of woman, it is prohibited to display her face in front of Ghair Mehram (to whom marriage is permitted), due to the fear of Fitnah. As regard to one who goes beyond the bounds set by Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta¡¯al and His Apostle, the Glorious Qur¡¯an says, ¡°Those who transgress Allah¡¯s limits are wrongdoers¡±. (Suratul Baqarah: 2/229)

(3) Whenever a Muslim notices something wrong he should prohibit it with whatever means he can. But if he is unable to do so then he should at least consider it bad in his heart. The Prophet Of Islam (SAWS) is reported as having said, ¡°Anybody amongst you notices something evil, should correct it with his own hands, and if he is unable to do so, he should prohibit the same with his tongue; if he is unable even to do this, he should at least consider it as bad in his heart; this is the lowest degree of faith¡±. (Sahih Muslim)

And Allah knows the best,
